New Work - Meeting Victor
Jun. 17th, 2013 07:50 pmTitle: Meeting Victor
Author: Aless Nox
Fandom: Sherlock(TV)
Length: 11,279 words
Found on FFNet and AO3
Summary:
Sherlock had told John, "I don't have friends. I only have one," and in John's mind he had projected this statement back in time to mean that he had never had a friend before, but this picture put a lie to that thought. That man, with his arm draped warmly over Sherlock's shoulder, was no mere acquaintance. That man was something more.
I'd been intrigued by the character of Victor Trevor ever since I learned that he was canon, so I listened to The Adventure of the Gloria Scott which is less a Sherlock Holmes story, and more an anecdote or reminder of the past. Victor is mentioned as Sherlock's only friend from University, but if you look at Sherlock BBC then you find that they call John Watson Sherlock's only friend, then what of Victor?
I wrote this story to explore that character, and to work on my descriptive writing, mood, and imagery. It is an adaptation and updating of the Adventure of the Gloria Scott with the addition of a meeting with Victor Trevor.
As always, I appreciate comments, good or bad. But mostly good. ;)
Cheers
