Now I love podfics, but this doesn't mean that I love all podfics.
I have my likes and dislikes, my kinks and phobias.
To continue my resolution to review more, I will review podfics that disturbed me because I know that for different people "your mileage may vary".
Disclaimer: This review reflects in no way on the quality of these works. It is just records my Squick factor.

Shhhhhh!

This podfic is about one act of anal sex. From somewhere in the middle to the end. Actually it is about finding long words which are rewarded with actions. Now it is very cleverly written, and if I was reading the words I probably wouldn't mind so much, but as a podfic...I guess I have to see words to really count the syllables in my head. Although I normally don't mind a little "plot, what plot", I just felt that I was a bit too close to someone else's graphic sex act.

You are what you eat (and you know what that is)

I actually think that this podfic is quite good. It is the premise that disturbs me. This story is about cannibalism. The concept grosses me out and so I don't listen to this podfic much. Even so, I find myself unable to delete this story from my limited memory pad computer because I love one particular section where Sherlock is overcome with the idea of having John inside him in all possible ways. I will listen to just that section, but not the rest.

Quote: "And he was inside John, and John was inside him..."

Tealight

Now I will be the first to say that it is unfair that this is on this list. The language is beautiful, and it is a nice study of a moment in time. What I object to is actually the entire omegaverse universe. The Omegaverse gets to me. An entire universe of trying to hide women's desire for rape and domination by making the victim and the perpetrators both men. Even a well written story in this universe makes me downright mad by the end of it. In fact the nicer it is, the more I hate it. If It was poorly written, I'd have no problem deleting it.This way, I feel like I'm losing something when I refuse to listen.

Quote: "Dry fingertips contemplate his swollen wrists. Five broken nails, one torn completely free of the bed."

But I begin to think that I'd better stop while I'm ahead.
Remember, just because I had issues, that doesn't mean that you won't love them, so try these stories out.

:)
