Sunshine Challenge - Day Seven - Gifts of Sunshine
Prompt 7: VioletMy husband thinks that I should take pictures from Ultraviolet, the 2006 movie with Mila Jovovich which was mostly style, but had some good sci-fi elements. And I am not completely averse to it. For one, it predicted 2020s Mask styles.
Violet is a cheerful color that is associated with a variety of things including: originality, self-esteem, insight, poetry, discernment, understanding, creativity, music, perception, inhibition, and health.
Creativity doesn't wait for that perfect moment. It fashions its own perfect moments out of ordinary ones. — Bruce Garrabrandt
Insight, understanding, and creativity are some wonderful qualities to concentrate on for our final 2020 prompt. Here we ask you: what things are you able to offer others to bring a little sunshine into their lives?

But I wanted to try something different. The end of the prompt asks us the question:
What things are you able to offer others to bring a little sunshine into their lives?
Truly, I am not sure. It is going to be a punishing year, and we may die, so it's time to contribute if we can. I will tell you what I am open to doing, and you can take advantage of it, or not.
I am a writer, and I can beta read and offer suggestions to people who are stuck on writing.
I am a fanvidder, and although I have my limitations, I can offer help on timing and story issues.
I am a podficcer, and although editing is my bane, I am willing to critique or cheerlead your projects. Tell me which you prefer.
I am a teacher, and I can give advice on that and on studying, especially in Biology.
I am a mom, and a problem solver, so I can let you cry on my shoulder, and give you advice that might be helpful or irritating.
I am old, and I can tell you, "This too shall pass" because it has always been and always will be true.
So, if you need anything. Just ask. I'm here.
Hope you are enjoying the challenge. Stay calm, and take care.

And to be honest, I could use a virtual mom hug. I personally had a rather bad 2019, and then 2020 hasn't let anyone have a rest. It's definitely a little grounding to know I'm not actually alone in this.

So sweet of you to offer help in so many areas!:D

I think the thing I'd need most is the reassurance that I'm doing things as best I can, and that's okay. Because there's a whole lot of "you should be doing more than you are, if you really cared" going around.

This is so lovely. What I need more than anything is a cheerleader (with a dash of nag). I don't even require lengthy pep talks. I just need someone to poke me every so often and go, "Have you written anything today? Did you do any of the preliminary sketches that you promised? How's it going?" with the occasional "Rah rah! You got this!"
I'm trying to train myself to not go around crying on everyone's shoulder, especially in times like these when a lot of people absolutely cannot deal with the burden of one more person wailing about how awful everything is. So it's kind of nice to know who is willing to talk in more depth.
I too find comfort in "This too shall pass" and find even weirder comfort in watching documentaries about horrible periods in human history, because while none of us enjoy experiencing it, this is not even close to the worst shit that the world has survived. I also find it striking that humans continue to fall in love and make art and generally keep going even in awful times. It's what we do.
Twenty years from now people will be writing innaccurate overly-romanticized stories about healthcare workers or couples quarantining together or falling in love on Zoom.
Re: π
And I don't doubt that you are right about the future Drama Queens.
LOL!

Yay!
(I have art due at the end of August. I haven't even started.)
