Snowflake challenge - Day 1 why am I participating

Fandom Snowflake Challenge banner 2018

I participated in the snowfake challenge several years ago when I was new to fandom, and it helped me to realize and to articulate what fandom meant to me and why I participate. Now I feel a need to re-explore what it means. I recently posted my 100th work to AO3 and I wonder... what am I getting from fandom. What am I giving to fandom. What do I want to give? What do I want to find? New Years is the time for introspection, so let us introspect!
